Milwaukee to Host Midgets During IRL Weekend

July 18, 2006

Shullsburg, WI – After a disappointing return to O’Reilly Raceway Park (formerly Indianapolis Raceway Park) a couple weeks ago and weeks of preparation and promotions with the Milwaukee Mile David Byrne and his Byrne Racing Team are looking forward to this weekends big event at the famed Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, WI.

In a partnership with the Milwaukee Mile, Klondike Cheese Company and Swiss Colony (Monroe, WI) to help promote the upcoming USAC / IRL weekend at ‘The Mile’ the Byrne Racing Team has been quite busy the past few weeks. Their car has been on display all over southern Wisconsin, including Madison International Speedway and Summer Fest in Milwaukee.

He has done radio show after radio show including a 30-minute interview last Monday night on the Racing Radio show, AM1260 WEKZ in Monroe. He continues his spot each Monday night on the Lancaster Radio Show and he will be on three radio shows including the Racing Round-up Radio Show with Jim Tretow from the Milwaukee Mile next Monday July 24th following the Milwaukee event.

“All of the build-up and hype to our premier race of the year, 1000 posters with my picture plastered all over Southern Wisconsin and the Mid-West, and whether I do good or bad this weekend, I’ve got to do 3 interviews on Monday the 24th, explaining my performance on July 22, the pressure is really on” says Byrne.

The team continues to prepare for the big event this weekend, making sure every nut, bolt and wire is checked. They are pulling out all of the stops in hopes of a good finish at what they consider their home track, including a new shock package developed by Advanced Racing Suspensions out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Byrne and his Fontana powered Stealth will be up against the best midget drivers in the country this weekend at ‘The Mile’ in the Toyota USAC Midget Classic 25 Saturday afternoon. Also racing ‘The Mile’ this weekend will be the USAC Silver Crown Series and the Indy Racing League.

Stop by the Milwaukee Mile this weekend and watch for David Byrne in his beautiful red #20 Truck Country Freightliner, Ticor Insurance, Bytec, Inc, Fontana, Stealth midget battle with the best drivers in the nation. Then listen for him on Wisconsin radio stations next Monday night.
