Byrne Racing returning to USAC Silver Crown Series in 2013
Byrne Racing will again be a part of the USAC Silver Crown [Champ Car] Series in 2013. They are building a new car and will field the #40 Beast/Chevrolet for driver David Byrne of Shullsburg Wisconsin. They will race on pavement tracks throughout the country. Races will include one in their home state of Wisconsin, racing at the renowned Milwaukee Mile on July 7th 2013. Races will also include visits to Gateway International Raceway in Madison Illinois near St Louis Missouri and Pikes Peak Raceway in Fountain Colorado near Denver. Other races include two races at Raceway Park in Indianapolis IN.
In 2012 David destroyed his Silver Crown car in a spectacular crash in the first race of the year at the USAC Hall of Fame Race at Raceway Park in Indianapolis Indiana. On lap 35 of the 100 lap race the throttle stuck coming out of turn two. The car hit the wall hard in turn 3 and didn’t come to rest until turn 4. Fortunately all of the Safety Gear did its job and David came away with only a bruised knee. David was back racing at the same track one week later in his USAC Midget car.
USAC Silver Crown open wheel, open cock pit cars, have been racing in various configurations, since the early 1900’s and were originally run at the Indianapolis 500. Byrne has fielded a Silver Crown Car since 2010.
Byrne Racing, Shullsburg Wisconsin, have been fielding cars various cars for David since 2001. David also runs the complete USAC Pavement Midget Car Series.
In 2012, David also raced 3 Super Late Model Stock Car Races for Pathfinder Chassis out of Sun Prairie Wisconsin. He is scheduled to race 4 Stock Car Races with the Pathfinder Team in 2013, two of which will be run at Madison International Raceway in Oregon Wisconsin.
