2011 Season In Review
Byrne Racing had a somewhat successful year. We had a steep learning curve with the Silver Crown Car but David and Chuy had the car running really good in Toledo OH, the last race.
In the Midget
David had a couple of competitive races. In Milwaukee, David had been in the top 3 most of race before losing momentum trying for the lead. He finished 7th. At Iowa David dogged Bryan Clauson, the leader, for the first half of the race but could not keep up the pace after the intermission and finished 6th. We couldn’t get things rolling for Indianapolis and Turkey night Grand Prix we finished all 98 laps and finished 18th. 2012 has 9 National Races and a number of Regional Races and we hope to have a New Partner, which should be announced soon.
In the Silver Crown Car
We didn’t get the “adjusters” in the car until Indianapolis race 3. Milwaukee we were really good but David spun the car. We changed his right rear tire which put him a lap down. David never recovered and finished 18th. Iowa was run 100 laps of green, and we finished 12th. In Toledo it was a different story. David broke an Axle in first practice which required a rear end change. We got it changed in time for qualifying. He qualified 14th. David raced his way from 14th up to 4th by lap 70 at which time the Right Rear Tire bleeder decided to stick open which essentially let the air leak from the tire. David managed to finish the race but definitely had an ill handling car by the finish. We barely got our feet wet with only 4 races but we look to hit the ground running in 2012.
We would like to thank our Sponsors: Truck Country, Tricor Insurance, RaceTeamGear.com and of course, Bytec Resource Management Inc.
We keep the same resources in place for 2012. The Car Chief remains James “Chuy” Sandburg. We keep the Shop in Brownsburg Indiana. Look for the 2012 Schedule soon. We also hope to announce a new Partner for both the Midget and the Silver Crown Car. We hope to have an announcement soon.
